2. Upcoming Football Fixtures and Results
The Premier League season is in full swing and there are some huge games coming up this weekend. Here are two of the most anticipated fixtures and my predictions for the results.
Manchester United vs Liverpool
This is always a huge game regardless of where both teams are in the table. This year, however, there is even more riding on it with both teams vying for a place in the top four. I think this will be a tight game with few chances, but I ultimately see Liverpool edging it 1-0.
Arsenal vs Tottenham
Another huge game in the Premier League, this time with a north London derby. Both teams are in good form, but I think Arsenal will be too strong for Tottenham at home and will win 2-1.
3. Team News and Analysis
The new season is upon us and there are already plenty of talking points. Here, we take a look at three pieces of team news and analyse what they could mean for the clubs involved.
1) Manchester United have confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will miss the start of the season through injury.
This is a huge blow for United, who were hoping to have Sanchez available for their opening game against Leicester City. The Chilean is a key player for the Red Devils and his absence will be felt.
2) Liverpool have announced that Fabinho will not be available for their opening game against West Ham United.
This is not ideal for Liverpool, who will be without one of their key players for the season opener. Fabinho is a key part of the Reds’ midfield and his absence will be felt.
3) Chelsea have loaned out Michy Batshuayi to Crystal Palace.
This is not a surprise, as Batshuayi has been surplus to requirements at Chelsea. The Belgian striker will hope to get some regular playing time at Palace and rediscover his best form.
4. Football Expert Predictions
The new football season is upon us and that means one thing – expert predictions! We asked four experts for their thoughts on the upcoming season. Here’s what they had to say…
1. Who will win the Premier League? The rivalry between Club America and Deportivo Toluca FC is one of the fiercest in Mexican football. It all began back in the early days of the Mexican professional league, when the two teams were the dominant forces in the country.
“There are a few teams that could win the Premier League this season, but I think it will be Manchester City who come out on top. They have a strong squad and Pep Guardiola is a great manager. I think they will just edge it ahead of Liverpool.”
2. Who will be relegated?
“It’s always difficult to say who will be relegated, as it depends on a lot of factors. However, I think the three teams that will go down are Burnley, Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City.”
3. Who will be the top scorer in the Premier League?
“There are a few players who could win the Golden Boot this season, but I think it will be Harry Kane who takes home the prize. He’s a great goalscorer and he always seems to find the back of the net.”
4. What do you think will be the biggest story of the season?
“I think the biggest story of the season will be how well Liverpool do. They were so close to winning the Premier League last season and I think they will be even better this year. I think they could even go on to win the title.”
